Reformed and Baptistic in theology. We believe in the sovereignty of God in all things, including salvation (Eph. 1:4-6; 2:5), even as we make real choices and respond, by God’s enabling grace, to his work in us. We believe that all things exist for the glory of God (Rom. 11:33-36). We practice believer’s baptism by immersion (1 Pet. 3:21; Col. 2:12).
Elder-led in government. Though our congregation votes on major matters, the church is led by a plurality of men who serve as elders/pastors/overseers (Titus 1:5; 1 Tim. 3:1-7).
Spirit-filled in practice. We seek to be a people who are yielding to the Holy Spirit and walking in his power. We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit to gift and empower members of the church to build one another up in love until Christ returns. These gifts are to be operated decently and in order, in love, and according to the instructions of Scripture, which is the standard of judgment for everything we do. We believe that the Holy Spirit still speaks encouragement and wisdom through members of the church to one another, but that these words are not equal to, or an addition to, Scripture. (1 Cor. 1:7; 12:7, 11; 14; 13:8-12; 14:1, 40)
Gospel-Centered in atmosphere. The gospel of Christ is at the heart of all we do. It is our focus in our singing, praying, preaching and teaching, and our actions. We are a gospel community that points one another to the work of Christ on our behalf. (Phil. 1:27; Rom. 1:16; Col. 1:23).
