What to Expect

No need to dress up (unless you want!). Don’t expect a well-rehearsed “show.” Our goal is not to entertain, but to give authentic worship to the Lord together and encourage each other in him. We are a family of believers and we try to be real in our gatherings.

We like to sing with passion – songs about the glory of God, the person and work of Christ and our need for him. Our singing time is led by a band, but they are not the stars. We sing a mixture of modern songs and old hymns, and we encourage the whole congregation to join in! We treasure the preaching of the word of God, which is almost always verse-by-verse through books of the Bible, and always points us to Jesus and his gospel.

Toward the end of our gathering, we allow time for people to share their heart – testimonies of how God has been working in their lives, praises for his provision, prayer requests, etc, and we pray together. Some Sundays several from the congregation may share a Scripture that has encouraged them, or publicly thank God for something he has done for them. Sometimes we will gather around someone who is hurting and pray for them. We’re not in a hurry, so we sometimes go a little longer than some people are used to (expect an hour and a half to two hours for our Sunday gathering). We usually close each gathering with the bread and cup of communion, and baptized believers are welcome to join in.

We have lots of kids, and many of them remain with their parents the whole time (though we do have children’s ministry the first and third Sunday of every month, and a nursery every week); So you might hear a baby crying. Our members usually hang out and talk for a good while after the gathering: getting to know each other better, laughing, or praying.

Come and worship with us!
