At Jesus’ baptism he is publicly revealed to Israel. And in those moments by the river we see truth about who Jesus is. He is the righteous one who makes us righteous. He is the anointed one who gives us his Spirit. He is the Son of God who reigns as King. And he is the suffering Servant who lays down his life for his people.
