The New Day in Christ

Cary Cox, from Mark 2:18-22. Everything is new with the coming of Jesus Christ! He brings the joy of the kingdom of God, the messianic feast! He is the Bridegroom of God’s people! He is the substance of all the shadows, prophecies, promises, and pictures of the OT. In Christ we are a new people in a new covenant with a new temple, headed to the new Jerusalem in new heavens and new earth! It’s all about Jesus.

He Came for Sinners

Cary Cox, from Mark 2:13-17. Jesus did not come for the healthy, but the sick! All are infected with sin, but not everyone knows it. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. In this passage, Jesus balances Truth and Love perfectly. He hangs out with sinners. But he does not affirm their sin. He calls them to repent, that they may be transformed by the grace of God in Christ!
